IN-HOUSE LABORATORY TESTING
We use a large range of equipment in our laboratory to analyse blood and other samples of tissues taken from a patient in the attempt to make a diagnosis. We have the ability with the state of the art equipment to “look” inside the animal within an hour so that our veterinarians can diagnose and monitor an animal’s progress.
Our equipment includes blood analysers to give us red cell counts, white blood cell counts and interpretation, electrolytes, multiple organ analysers, blood gas monitors, centrifuges, microscopes, tissue staining abilities and hormone analysers.
We do send samples to an outside laboratory if necessary and we consult specialist pathologists if necessary using results from our equipment as well as results from external laboratories.
Using the equipment we have gives us the ability to diagnose and instigate treatment for a huge range of problems within a very short time of presentation of the animal to our hospital.
